HAPPY 40th ANNIVERSARY DR. FLOYD!    Dr. Curtiss Floyd just celebrated his 40th year practicing dentistry.  A party was held in his honor to congratulate and thank him for his continual dedication and support to his patients and the dental field.

WINTER RETREAT The staff winter retreat started with a hudle at Starbuck's, followed by a day full of discussion and brainstorming.  All team members spent the day preparing for 2008 and reflecting on their 2007 experiences. Over the holiday season, Pat volunteered at the MinioBurn Center, assisted senior citizens and collaborated with the cub scouts.  Dr. Kevin Floyd also helped at the MinioBurn Center.Miranda assisted with the MCDD Christmas Play, and Wendy participated in cell phones for soldiers and breast cancer drives.

DIGITAL XRAYS We have just installed a state of the art X-ray system.  It uses a digital sensor, so we can decrease your X-ray exposure by almost 90%.  It instantly displays a large screen X-ray, which means we can detect things early before they become a problem.  It is enviromentally friendly (no film or chemicals).   The system allows us more time to spend with you because it is much quicker than traditional X-rays.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY KIM!  Kim is celebrating her 50th Birthday this month.  The office enjoyed lunch with Kim and wore black scrubs in her honor all day long!

DR. LISA BAINES joined our practice this summer  She is an honors graduate of SIU Dental School, and is accepting new patients.

KIDS ROOM We have just updated our kids room!  There is a new TV with DVD player and GameCube. We have a desk for coloring and playing with our felt board.  The chaulk board corner is great if you want to show us your artistic skills.

RECEPTION ROOM We have updated our reception room.  Come early and try out our new couches.  We have had people stay after their appointment to enjoy a few minutes of peace before going back to work.

GIVE KIDS A SMILE  Our staff just participated in Give Kids a Smile at our office.  Eleven members of our local dental society donated their time and skills to give underprivilaged children in Springfield free dental care.  It was a great day.  We all agree that it was as much a gift to us as to the kids we helped.

DR. KEVIN FLOYD   recently participated in Leadership Springfield, which is a program to train area leaders and is sponsored by the Chamber.  Part of the program was a detailed project which helped the Hope School.

He was asked by a major dental manufacturer to evaluate a new filling material.  This material has promise to have natural esthetics with excellence in wear.

DR. CURTISS FLOYD  was the Master of Ceremonies in April for the largest annual gathering of Boy Scouts in the nation- the Lincoln Pilgrimage.  He also was the teacher of Up and Comers Sunday School Class this summer at First United Methodist Church.  This Oct. 10th marks his 40th year in practice, an open house is planned.

 DR. CURTISS FLOYD'S other son, Mike, is a Secret Service Agent with President Bush.  He recently has been biking with the President.  Photo of them is at the president's ranch in Crawford.  Mike is also one of the drivers of the Presidential limo.
